Dear World Artists Experiences' Friends,

This Virtual WAE features the internationally recognized Megaron Chamber Choir from Slovenia.  Founded in 2003, the chorus is distinguished by its inspiring interpretations of music from various periods and especially for its interpretative singing of Slovenian folk music.  The choir performed for WAE audiences last year in Annapolis, Cumberland, and Salisbury in Maryland and in Pittston, Pennsylvania.  Included are a few pictures.

Thank you for your emails.  Let's stay in touch!  Take care and stay healthy!

Peace to you,

Betty McGinnis, President

MEGARON CHAMBER CHOIR

Dear Everyone at WAE,

Thank you for your wishes.  We also hope you and your families are healthy and doing well.

These are indeed incredibly strange times. Especially - maybe - for artists, who take such joy in being together, creating together. Choirs everywhere - just like ours - must be positively aching for the day when we can meet again to sing.

During this time we are especially grateful to you and all your co-workers who made sure our time in the USA was so incredibly wonderful. We can appreciate - now more than ever - how such opportunities to travel and share music with people across the world should not be taken for granted. This crisis makes us cherish our experience in the USA even more.

Thank you again for all the memories that help us keep in good spirits, and all the best,

 Megaron Chamber Choir

Damijan Močnik JERUSALEM - performed by St. Stanislav Girls Choir

Jerusalem means "the city of peace".  However, the city reflects the world we live in. Every morning it wakes up in restlessness, conflict and hatred. The idea for the composition and its final form matured through numerous talks with my friend and conductor Helena Fojkar Zupančič and at rehearsals with the wonderful St. Stanislav Girls' Choir of the Diocesan Classical Gymnasium. In the composition JERUSALEM I have used the name of the city in several languages (Egyptian, Aramean, Akkadian, Hebrew, Arab, Greek, Latin and Slovene) and applied the sections from Psalm 121 in 5 languages (English, Hebrew, Arab, Latin and Slovene). As Jerusalem is the holy city for the three biggest monotheistic religions, I have used different images deriving from Jewish, Christian and Muslim music. What has been created is a picturesque and powerful fresco, which on one hand depicts great contrast, but on the other, a fervent wish for peace.
